I really wanted to like this adventure. As it's about my favorite New Who Doctor, I really really tried! But honestly, it just felt completely out of character. First, Nine never went undercover. (No less for a month.) It wasn't his style. Nor is hotwiring a motorcycle for a joy ride. And Nicholas Briggs, more often than not, sounded like he was imitating Ten rather than Nine.

Overall, it was an okay story. Not my favorite by far, but okay. There are moments (like when Eleven appears) that are spot on. But it could have been a lot better!

The Doctor, Rose, and Jack arrive in New Vegas to investigate a vigilante known as the Whisper who is killing off the mobsters and denizens who have dominated New Vegas.

Overall, this is a very fun story. It's features the Ninth Doctor in a sort of Sci Fi Noir which also includes a man-wolf mob boss. The reveal of the Whisper's identity was very well-handled as was the emotional fall out of it. Kudos to John Schwab for doing a great job as the Chief of Police.

Nick Briggs' 9th Doctor voice was in a word-fantastic. He really captures Eccelston's voice beautifully. Until and unless Eccelston agrees to record for Big Finish, this is as close as fans will get to 9th Doctor Adventures. Overall, one of the strongest stories in the series.
Descent audio. Nicholas Briggs does a great job, but it's not the same as having the full cast. These are my favorite characters, but the don't ring quite true. Still an enjoyable audio.
I love Doctor Who, and I have bought five of these stories. This is one of them. This is also the cheesiest. This sounds like a dime-store detective novel. The narration is fine, and the voice of the Doctor is the best rendition yet. I know it is not Christopher Eccelston, but it sounded very close. It is worth the money if you enjoy detective type stories. It is a Doctor Who, but unlike any I have ever heard.
